The Extra Pay Facts website at www.extrapayfacts.com (the “Website”) is hosted by the California Grocers Association (“we” and “ours”).  We created this privacy policy (this “Policy”) to inform you of our practices collecting, storing and using the information we collect when you use the Website. The purpose of the Website is to inform the public of the facts behind extra pay proposals.


Personal Information

We may ask you to provide personal information, like your name and email address to send you emails with additional information or if you request certain information from us.  We do not collect personal information unless you voluntarily provide it to us. If you decide you do not want to receive future communications from us you can opt out of any email communications you receive from us by contacting us at [email protected].  

We collect your personal information you voluntarily provide through our vendor CrowdSkout who then houses the data.  CrowdSkout uses the latest encryption to ensure your personal information is secure. Information is sitting behind two layers of authentication that uses OAuth technology to ensure only valid connections and requests are allowed.  Their database servers are protected by a firewall that is only acceptable to CrowdSkout’s application.  However, no internet communication is ever completely secure or error-free.  As such, we cannot accept responsibility for any personal information that is compromised in this manner that is outside of our control.

We and CrowdSkout do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Usage Information

We track navigational data and information about how you use our Website through our use of cookies, internet tags and web beacons. If you do not want to accept cookies from our Website, you can set most Internet browsers to refuse cookies or to notify you when a cookie is sent, but be aware that in such circumstances, certain features of our Website might not function properly. Included in the usage information we collect is the address of the website you visited just prior to navigating to our Website and the time and date of your visit. We also may track the content and pages you visit on the Website.

We may use the Website usage information to improve the Website and its content.

Third Party Ad-Serving Companies

From time to time, we may allow third parties to display advertisements on our Website, which may be third-party ad-serving companies or ad networks. Some of these ad networks may place a persistent cookie on the Website that would enable the network to recognize you each time you view an advertisement on our Website. We may offer services that allow you to share information about our Website or its content with third-party social media networking sites such as Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, and others.  If you engage with our Website through third-party social networking sites, you may be allowing us access to certain information stored on those social networking sites, such as your public profile, list of friends, followers or connections, etc. The information we have access to from the social networking sites varies by website and is controlled by your privacy settings on that website. Any information we collect with respect to your use of functionality with social networking sites shall be treated in accordance with this Policy.
